“This is the way to escape Midwest winters.” Bryce traced his finger around Leanna’s ear, just barely visible in the silvery moonlight.

  After the bustle of the luau festivities died down, they lay in the white powdery sand, listening to the waves lashing on the beach in front of the hotel.

  “And a great way to spend a honeymoon. Make that the only way” Leanna snuggled into Bryce’s shoulder, smiling to herself in the flower-scented night.

  “Do you think Kai’s missing us?”

  “Not a chance. If I know Dad and Alice, they’ll be spoiling her rotten.” Leanna laughed. “But I know she’ll be happy to have us back.”

  Bryce raised himself and smoothed back a wisp of hair on her forehead. Bending over, he said, “I’m the luckiest person in the world.”

  “You and me, both,” Leanna said with a contented smile.
